Lesson Policies – Andy Warr Music
These policies outline how lessons are scheduled, attended, and supported across all lesson tiers and offerings.
Schedule and Attendance
Each subscription includes up to four lessons per month.
Lessons occur weekly at a reserved timeslot.
In months with a fifth occurrence of your lesson day, no lesson is held during that week.
Drop-in sessions are scheduled based on availability and are not part of a subscription.
If a weekly lesson falls on an instructor unavailable date, the lesson will be rescheduled whenever possible. If a reschedule cannot be arranged, the student will receive a prorated credit equal to one-fourth of the monthly subscription amount.
Lessons are not held on observed studio holidays, which are already factored into the subscription structure.
For holidays and instructor unavailable dates, please see the Studio Calendar.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Students may reschedule one lesson per month with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability.
Lessons cancelled with fewer than 24 hours’ notice are considered completed.
If the instructor must cancel, a makeup lesson or credit will be provided.
Missed lessons (no-shows) are not refundable.
Late arrivals do not extend the lesson time.
Billing and Payments
Subscriptions are billed monthly on the 1st of each month.
New students beginning mid-month receive prorated billing for their first month.
Monthly fees reserve a weekly timeslot; they are not adjusted for missed lessons.
Payment is required to confirm or maintain a reserved timeslot.
Mid-Week Check-Ins (Saxophone Lessons Only)
Mid-week check-ins are included in all weekly saxophone subscription tiers (Foundations, Development, and Advanced).
Check-ins are brief and may be conducted by phone, video chat, message, audio note, or short video.
Check-ins provide targeted guidance, clarification, and practice support between lessons.
Communication
Email or text is acceptable for scheduling, questions, and general communication.
Students may submit short audio or video clips for practice feedback as part of their tier’s mid-week check-in support.
Parents of younger students may communicate on behalf of the student as needed.
Lesson Materials
Students are responsible for bringing required materials (instrument, reeds, music, notebook, laptop, etc. as appropriate to the lesson type).
Digital materials may be provided when applicable for saxophone, theory, or music technology lessons.
Pausing or Ending Lessons
Students may pause a subscription for one month with 14 days’ notice.
Longer pauses may result in losing the reserved timeslot.
To end lessons, please provide 14 days’ notice; the subscription will end at the next billing cycle.
Studio Expectations
Students are expected to arrive prepared and ready to work.
Consistent practice is essential for progress across all lesson types.
Respectful and professional communication ensures a positive and productive learning environment.
